Dear Women of the Word,

At the end of the year is a wonderful time to set spiritual goals for the following year. We are all so prone to set financial goals, homemaking goals, homeschooling goals, all kinds of goals, but we often neglect setting spiritual goals.

This January, we will be restarting our Women of the Word Bible studies on Friday evenings, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. We will be starting out the year with Genesis part 3, Abraham: Faithful Friend of God. If your children are already doing Genesis in homeschool, then this is a time for you to fill up your tank on the same material that they are learning, but allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you directly through His Word. If you aren't doing this study with your childen, then be prepared to be blessed!!! We will have our orientation meeting January 28th, at 7:30pm. For orientation, you'll need your books and your Bibles, preferably New American Standard translation.

In order to obtain your books, please go to Precept Ministries International (www.precept.org), and buy the Precept Upon Precept Genesis part 3 workbook. They take about 7 days to arrive. After part 3, we will go on to part 4, and to part 5 (God willing); summertime, we'll go back to Psalm 119 for 6 weeks; THEN..... we'll be so ready and eager to return to Romans, part 3, Romans 9 through 11, because we will have the wonderful backdrop of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph plus the WONDERFULNESS of God's Word--all of which will help us tremendously as we study the Sovereignty of God in Romans!!! What an awesome year of Bible study our Lord has for us this coming year!!!!

If you are desiring deeply to share your faith? If you always wanted to share your faith and be obedient to the great commission? If you always wanted to learn and practice it regularly? Then, don't miss out on the opportunity to "just do it." Every second Saturday of the month our team goes out into the community and shares the gospel with all those we come in contact with through house to house evangelism. We are always excited about this.

Let me give you some real reasons for exploring this obedient act of worship--evangelism:

1. It is a discipline just like prayer, Bible reading, or studying God's Word.
2. It is an act of obedience.
3. It will give you the confidence to continue to share your faith regularly with people you otherwise would get very little exposure to.
4. It is intentional and direct with compassion and the truth
5. It is training and building of your skill to proclaim the Word
6. It will plant seeds of the gospel in the hearts of souls.
7. It will help you become mighty in the Scriptures.

These are just a few of the purposes and benefits of coming out with us. You can also get familiar with it and do it your self at your own church. We encourage this. We are exploring the possibility of teaming up with "Tsedakah Ministries," a Jewish-Christian group that will help us evangelize the Jewish community in our area. Exciting!!!

Our benefits of this to our church already:

1. Our folks our becoming excited about evangelism
2. Our folks are beginning to see the need to be involved in this regularly
3. Our folks are getting monthly training
4. Our folks are getting the consistent opportunity to share their faith.
5. *We have had "five new families with children join our church in the last month.
6. *We have had at least four make professions of faith since we started.
7. We have had numerous opportunities to pray with individuals and families through our door to door visits
8. *We are still following up on folks in the community that want to hear more about the gospel
9. We have opportunity to place faces with names and homes of the community

These are just a few huge rewards and blessings of door to door. Please try it out with us. We would love to join hands with other churches and Christians to help all of us reach our communities for Christ. Please know we continue to learn also and that we are in no way, shape, or form believing we have come to expert knowledge of how to do things but we just humbly submit and obey to what we know we should do and allow God to continue to shape, train, and educate us. The door to door evangelism revolves around these basics:

1. Seeking God's blessing and power to do this through prayer.
2. Education and training through Scripture principles and memorization.
3. Familiarizing oneself with the tools we use: questionnaire, tracts, and door to door practicum.
4. Actual door to door practice
5. Discussions and testimonials after return from the field
6. The whole process: meet at 9:30 AM, have prayer and brief Scripture principles 9:30 to 10:00 AM, door to door in teams, return to church between 11:15-11:30 AM.
7. New: We are starting at 8:30 AM prior to 9:30 AM the study by Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort, "The Way of the Master," evangelism study. Exciting study!

Greetings to all! Once again our monthly "Men's Breakfast" at Miramar is extended to all. We warmly invite you to come and join us. We will be having great food as always (famous pancakes!!). We will encourage each other and learn together. We will also have time to exercise shooting hoops or soccer.

We have been reading and discussing together the book by John Macarthur, "Nothing but the Truth" and the chapter on the reliability of Scripture is the topic of discussion. This book furnishes some basic tools to help you share your faith.Your always welcome to invite a male friend. The last time we got together we had 16 men, please join in. Don't miss it.

Details:

1. It starts at 9:00 AM
2. Any son's are invited
3. If you like to play sports, bring proper attire
4. If you would like to help by bringing some food, let me know via email
5. It ends by no later than 10:30 AM, then we play sports.
6. This occurs the third Saturday of every month.
7. If you like to be part of the discussion in a deeper way, then purchase the book and follow along.
