Our
Mission
Our Mission Statement (Why We Exist as a Church)
The mission of our church is summarized in a single sentence:
OUR MISSION: The mission of Miramar Evangelical Free Church is to act as
a tool of the Holy Spirit in transforming ordinary people into fully devoted
followers of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:28)
Miramar Evangelical Free Church will grow people into fully devoted followers of
Jesus Christ by strategically planning and implementing ministries in the four
arenas of the New Testament church (Acts 2:42-47).
They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles'
teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord's Supper and in prayer. A deep
sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous
signs and wonders. And all the believers met together constantly and shared
everything they had. They sold their possessions and shared the proceeds with
those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for
the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity-all the
while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day
the Lord added to their group those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47 (NLT)
WORD. We will teach the Scripture in a way that explains its meaning and
applies it to life, with the goals of saving the lost and equipping believers
for Christ-like living and effective ministry (2 Timothy 3:14- 17).
But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they
are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught
the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to
receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is
inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize
what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is
right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every
good thing God wants us to do. 2 Timothy 3:14-17 (NLT)
WARMTH. We will develop Christ-centered fellowship at both small-group
and large-group levels. This fellowship will intentionally
cross ethnic and socioeconomic lines, and will be a vehicle by which
believers care for one anotherÍs spiritual and physical needs (John
13:34-35)
"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you,
you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my
disciples-when they see the love you have for each other." John 13:34-35
(Msg)
WORSHIP. We will develop worship services that attract a multiethnic
congregation to praise God as a portrait of the
heavenly multitude before his throne (Revelation 7:9). We will seek
the LordÍs direction and power
in prayer as foundational to all ministries.
After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation
and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne
and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white and held palm branches
in their hands. And they were shouting with a mighty shout, "Salvation comes from our God on the throne and
from the Lamb!" Revelation 7:9-10 (NLT)
WITNESS. We will share the good news of salvation in Christ both in our
local community and in other regions of the world, with the goal of making
disciples of all ethnic groups (Matthew 28:18-20).
Jesus came to them and said: I have been given all authority in heaven
and on earth! Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples.
Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always,
even until the end of the world. Matthew 28:18-20 (CEV)
